Yaka Dandjoo Events (Working Together) was formed in early 2015. The purpose of the group is to assist in the planning and coordinating of significant events to be held in the Bunbury Geographe region to help celebrate Aboriginal people and Noongar culture.   The committee consists of volunteers and is made up of representatives from both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community groups.  The Committee aims to organise a number of cultural events throughout the year with the main events being the Reconciliation and NAIDOC weeks.

Members include representatives from City of Bunbury, the South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS), South Regional TAFE, Community Sector, Education sector, PCYC Bunbury, Department of Human Services, WA Country Health Services, WAITOC and Aboriginal Language Centre.

Yaka Dandjoo promotes and facilitates respect, trust and positive relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Yaka Dandjoo acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
